Liviu Librescu

When it counted he stood firm
Not giving into weakness with a squirm
He held his position not giving in
Protecting students like they were kin
Liviu Librescu often smiled and gave greeting
His life held every ounce of meaning
He was a husband and father
With two sons and not one daughter
He was well respected for being him
He was a fine beautiful rare gem
He had lived through one horrible ordeal
He was genuine to the core he was real
He’s a hero to one—hero to all
This professor who heeded hero’s call
